Forum & Blog Posting Guidelines Regarding Rate Changes, Performance and Today.com’s T & C

Posted by flit on Apr 20, 2009 in Uncategorized |

Cross-posted with Just Flitting - here are more reasons NOT to blog or advertise with Today.com. They change the rules to suit themselves whenever they like.

Moving forward with our plans to get  the message out to potential advertisers and to work with current and new bloggers interested in revenue sharing with Today.com  we wanted to address some of the most frequently asked questions we get when a blog’s pay is cut.

Due to our renewed goals for the network, here is what Today.com can and cannot do for any blogger not happy blogging with Today.com.

Today.com no longer offers transferring to free blog hosting. If you leave Today.com the URL and content remains online and Today.com reserves the right to reassign the blog with the content (Blogs do not become “inactive”, accounts do.)

Today.com will not change the Terms and Conditions in regards to content rights. Since the content is purchased under a work for hire agreement , content is the property of Today.com.  Any blogger who wishes to purchase their content back can contact Today.com directly to purchase it at the value Today.com paid plus 10%.

Today.com will not lower the payout amount from $50. We feel that if it is not your goal for your blog to make more than $50 in a month or two than [sic] Today.com is not the network for you. We are looking for people whose goals are in line with ours, working beyond the minimum to get maximum returns.

To reiterate in our previous post, Forum & Blog Posting Guidelines Regarding Rate Changes and Performance, if you determine you are no longer a fit for the Today.com program than [sic] we of course wish you the best in your future endeavors  however “Goodbye” posts announcing you are leaving or moving your blog to such and such link(s) will affect  the close of your account.
For bloggers who remain in the program, we will get the programs and tools out there for you to make your blog profitable beyond what pay per post could do for you.

Sincerely,

The Today.com Team

They are mind-bogglingly full of BS.

Wow, but they never paid me for my content. Therefore contract is null and void.
I had not read about re-assigning blog and content before. Absolutely not!!
WTF….

Of course there’s not because they don’t give a flying crap about any of their bloggers. Have you read the new BS about traffic and what it’s worth? They still won’t give a straight answer, saying it’s all in the algorithm. You should see some of my traffic stats. When you have high amounts, the discrepancies are even more obvious. I was paid $1 for every 1200+ UV’s in March. Not exactly $2 PPM. The difference between my UV’s and Total vistis was HUGE and they are advertising me at the higher view rate, not the UV’s that they are paying me for. Butt wipes. Dirt lickers.

Wow, I guess I have not even bothered to sign on in ages. I abandoned my blog with them and wondered if they would try to pull something like this since my PR just went up on it. I think that it is funny that they had no trouble paying me more when I was not ranked but as soon as the new rankings showed PR 2 they took away the PPP. I think it is punishment for using Entrecard.

I have been planning on going on and deleting everything except the posts since I can not touch those. I was just waiting for the last pay check. I do not want anyone else that may claim my blog to use my header, pictures, and color scheme. I better hurry before they lock me out of my account.

Melissa, that’s what I did. I was fortunately still logged into the system when they emailed me to say they were disabling my account. So I could still tweak the blog, and I stripped it bare.
