I complain a fair bit about poor customer service on this blog. It started with TDCanadaTrust, and seems to have just continued.
And there are some more not very nice posts in the wings …. but hey, not every business sucks!
One example of that is Napa AutoParts in Midland Ontario. They ordered in the filters that hubby needed for our boat; they came when they said - and not only that, they actually called us to let us know when they were in.
AND they were extremely pleasant and helpful when we went back in to pick them up, and not only listened to us go on about the boating accident that led to the need for the filters, but also went out of their way to provide us with a phone number we needed.
Excellent customer service can happen. Even in small town Ontario. And we really did appreciate it.

This morning while I was waiting for it to be time for my nontraditional student friends to come to my place for lunch, hubby pointed out that “our” heron was back …

Is he not the most gorgeous bird?

I took a lot of pictures of him - also a video which was cool because as I was filming, one of the many carp that are spawning on our front lawn right now swam through and I ended up with video of him as well. And a picture - see him? or her? I don’t know how you tell with a carp.

I can hardly believe that I’m leaving this for 4 out of the next 5 weeks. What was I thinking?

So - I did manage to have a bath … it was wonderful …well, except for the not being able to hold a book comfortably ….and the getting out part.
Still frustrated as hell with my essays, although I did come up with another set of lyrics for Cruising - this one goes to the tune of Good Ship Lollipop … had fun with it. Haven’t typed it up to put on the website yet, though; hopefully tomorrow.
Went to the dentist for the first time in well over 2 years today. Got to go back for a cleaning next week. Can ~hardly~ wait. Hate that…but oh well. Was rather surprised though - think this is the first time ever that they didn’t find cavities or loose fillings or whatever. I do have 2 gaping holes where fillings fell out; those need to be redone at some point - but no new problems. YAY ME!
Once those are done, they are going to make me a mouthguard - the reason my fillings fall out is because I am a horrible grinder… I don’t have a clue how Ross puts up with me.
We’re waiting on all that though, because the dentist thinks I should get one capped and a bridge for the other one… sent an estimate off to my insurance company to see what they will cover.
Been discussing whether to apply for one of the new grad student apartments for January … think we’ve pretty much decided not to bother for now. It would cost quite a bit more than I pay for the motel - and no smoking, most likely. And we’d have to buy a bed and other assorted furniture.
Ross’ biggest complaint with the motel is that the bed is too soft - he figures a board under the mattress would fix that.
We’re still looking for a van - the insurance company has yet to finalize how much they intend on giving us for the car, nor has the personal injury person set up the OT visit that would have been helpful if/when she suggested it, but which is getting more silly the longer they wait. Seems like they’re waiting until I’ve had time to heal before they bother… which will then mean that they don’t have to pay for the help I’ve had up to now, no doubt *sigh*
While my right wrist is, in fact, getting better, the left arm is just throbbing - I don’t know what is going on with it. I don’t remember my leg hurting like this when it was healing. Sure hope it settles down soon.
Still haven’t received my $900+ from my income tax return. NorDon was supposed to return it to the Ontario government who were supposed to return it to me… only been trying to get it since May. Nor-Don sucks. Royally.
I really had hoped that the cheque would show up in time for Christmas - doesn’t look likely now, does it? Thieves!
